With Safety in mind, Ruger designed the American to include safety features such as an internal, automatic sear block system, ambidextrous manual safety, integrated trigger safety and no trigger pull required for takedown all while still including the option for a visual inspection port that allows for visual confirmation of a loaded or empty chamber. The 3.75" barrel of the American Pistol is tested to uphold with the use of +P ammunition; additionally the barrel has a recoil reducing cam as well as a low-mass slide and low center of gravity. The trigger has a short takeup which is safe and easy and requires no additional tools or trigger pulls all while including a positive reset. Engineered to include the pre-tensioned striker system, the American Pistol has a commanding striker spring for positive ignition without a heavier trigger pull. Ruger designed this 45 ACP Auto to be operational with ambidextrous slide stop and magazine release, permitting for the comfortable use of all shooters. The addition of an MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail allows for the end user to mount a wide array of optics or lasers to the firearm, a feature that is needed in both the professional and private market.

How Will My Order Ship?

Target Sports USA will ship your order via UPS Ground. Target Sports ships to the lower 48 states. We DO NOT ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO's or P.O. Boxes.

Shipping Firearms

Handguns ship 2nd Day Air & long guns ship Ground. All firearms must be shipped to an FFL Dealer for NICS check & transfer. Please note: firearms transfers are subject to an additional fee set by the dealer.

Shipping Insurance

Target Sports USA offers shipping insurance on every order in order to ensure proper and safe delivery. The entire purchase price of the damages or lost merchandise is covered.

Due to the unique nature of the product we sell, we only accept returns and apply shipping insurance if the actual cartridges are damaged within transit. Superficial damage to packaging does not qualify for a return, insurance claim or discount.

Example: Dented corners on packaging, scratches or dents on ammo cans or cracks within plastic packaging would not qualify for a return and would not be covered under the shipping insurance.

UPS weight restrictions

We can only ship a package up to 45lbs. If an order exceeds this weight limit, a new package and label will be created. Please keep this in mind when having items shipped to an FFL Dealer. There may be an additional charge incurred to you (the customer) by the FFL Dealer for multiple packages.

Order Cancellation

You can cancel your order up until the pick slip is printed and your order is in process to be packed and shipped. After that time, we are unable to cancel your order.

If the order has shipped and a tracking number is available and you Refuse Delivery, a 10% restocking fee will be applied.

Incorrect Shipping Address

If you have supplied an incorrect shipping address & call prior to shipment, we can correct the address at no charge. If your order has been shipped, an address change fee per package will be added. If You Refuse Delivery, a 10% restocking fee will be applied.

Ammunition & Firearms Returns

Due to legal and safety regulations, ammunition sales are final and do not qualify for a return.

NON-Ammunition & Firearms Returns

(Ex: Gear, Clothing, Targets, etc.)

We offer returns or exchanges on clothing & gear items within 30 days of purchase.

Returns:
   - Returned items must have tags still on and be returned in original product packaging
   - Returned items must have no visible signs of wear or use
   - A 10% re-stocking fee will be applied
   - You can return your product for a refund to the original payment method, less the restocking fee

Exchanges:
   - Free exchanges for the same SKU

Exceptions:
