B&P Mach 12 Gauge Ammo 2 3/4" 6/7 oz #8 Shot - 12B78F28

B&P Mach 12 Gauge Ammo 2 3/4" 6/7 oz #8 Shot - 12B78F28

The B&P Mach is a 12 gauge target shotshell loaded with 6/7 oz of high-antimony lead #8 shot at 1365 fps. Built around B&P's Gordon System hull, this 2 3/4" shell is designed for competitive clay shooting where light recoil and consistent patterns are the priority. The powder charge is formulated for clean burning, keeping actions running through extended range sessions. This load is packaged in cases of 250 rounds, with 12 gauge bulk ammo case orders shipping free through Target Sports USA.

Features and Specifications:

• 6/7 oz #8 Lead Shot: A lighter payload option for clay target shooting, well suited for shooters who prioritize reduced recoil without sacrificing pattern consistency.
• 1365 fps Velocity: The higher velocity compensates for the lighter payload, supporting reliable pattern performance across trap, skeet, and sporting clays applications.
• Gordon System Hull: B&P's proprietary hull construction is engineered to reduce felt recoil, supporting consistent performance across high round count sessions.
• High-Antimony Lead White Shot: Pellets contain elevated antimony content to help maintain pellet shape during firing, contributing to tighter, more uniform patterns.
• Clean-Burning B&P Powder: The powder formulation is designed to minimize fouling while maintaining consistent velocities throughout a shooting session.
• 2 3/4" Standard Chamber Compatibility: This shell is compatible with pump-action, semi-automatic, and over-under 12 gauge shotguns chambered for 2 3/4" or 3" shells.

Deep Dive

Overview

This 12 gauge ammo is intended for competitive clay target shooting, including trap, skeet, and sporting clays. The 6/7 oz payload makes this a lighter-recoiling option within the Mach line, suited for shooters who want to reduce cumulative recoil fatigue during long competition days. The #8 shot size is the standard choice for most clay disciplines, particularly at closer presentation distances where pattern density is the priority. The higher 1365 fps velocity helps maintain effective pattern performance despite the reduced payload weight.

History and Development

Baschieri & Pellagri has been manufacturing shotshells since 1885, building its identity around precision loading, in-house powder development, and purpose-specific product design. The company develops its own powder formulations, maintaining direct control over burn rate and fouling characteristics across its product lines. The Mach line sits at the top of the B&P target shotshell catalog, developed for competitive shooters who require a shell built to perform under the demands of registered competition. That focus on component-level engineering has been central to the B&P brand throughout its history.

Common Questions and FAQs

• How does the 6/7 oz payload compare to a standard 1 oz target load?
The 6/7 oz payload is lighter than the standard 1 oz competition load, producing less felt recoil per shot. The higher 1365 fps velocity helps offset the reduced pellet count to maintain effective pattern performance at target distances.
• What clay target disciplines is this load suited for?
The Mach 6/7 oz #8 load is suited for trap, skeet, and sporting clays. The lighter payload makes it a practical choice for shooters who prioritize recoil management during extended competition days.
• What does the Gordon System hull do?
The Gordon System hull is engineered to absorb recoil at the base of the shell, reducing felt recoil compared to a standard hull construction. Combined with the lighter 6/7 oz payload, this makes the 12B78F28 one of the softer-shooting options in the Mach lineup.
• How is this load packaged?
The B&P Mach 12 Gauge bulk ammo is packaged in cases of 250 rounds, consisting of 10 boxes of 25 rounds each.

Why It Stands Out:

The B&P Mach 12 Gauge 6/7 oz #8 Shot is a lightweight competition target load built for clay shooters who want reduced recoil without stepping away from a premium shell. The Gordon System hull, high-antimony shot, and clean-burning powder work together to deliver consistent patterns at 1365 fps. Packaged in cases of 250, it is a practical option for competitors who need a soft-shooting 12 gauge target load for high round count days at the range.
