What is the muzzle velocity of Federal 9mm Luger 115 grain Full Metal Jacket?
This Federal 9mm 115 grain FMJ load has a muzzle velocity of 1180 fps. Its muzzle energy is listed at 356 ft lbs.
Is Federal American Eagle 9mm 115 grain FMJ good for police officers using a Glock sidearm?
It is good for target and practice shooting. It is not carry duty ammo. The “Luger” name refers to the 9mm Luger cartridge, which is the standard chambering many shooters mean when they say 9mm.
What is AE9DP?
AE9DP is the product code for this Federal American Eagle 9mm Ammo 115 Grain Full Metal Jacket load. It is part of the American Eagle 9mm training and target ammunition lineup.
What is the difference between the Federal American Eagle red box and an American Eagle value pack?
A direct comparison depends on the exact SKU or UPC for the value pack being compared. Packaging format alone does not confirm whether the load, bullet, or components are the same. Use the specific product identifiers to compare details accurately.
Is American Eagle 9mm target ammo the same as police carry ammo?
No. This American Eagle 9mm 115 grain FMJ is intended for target shooting and practice. Carry or duty ammunition is a separate selection, and grain weight alone does not define the right choice.
Why choose Full Metal Jacket for 9mm range practice?
Full Metal Jacket bullets are widely used for target shooting because they are built for practice and training rather than expansion. For shooters buying Federal Eagle practice ammo, FMJ is a practical category choice for regular range work.
About Federal 9mm Luger
Federal American Eagle 9mm in AE9DP is a centerfire / Boxer-primed 9mm Luger training load with a 115 grain Full Metal Jacket bullet. FMJ bullets are commonly used for range practice because the jacketed design is suited to target shooting rather than controlled expansion.
Federal describes this load as offering recoil and velocity similar to self-defense and competition ammunition, giving shooters a familiar feel while they train. With clean-burning powders, Federal primers, brass casing, and quality control aligned with the broader Federal American Eagle line, it is built for practical range repetition.
For shooters stocking up in the 9mm Luger category, Federal American Eagle offers a straightforward practice option with AE9DP. Choose a case or bulk option when you want to keep training supplied, and look for bulk ammo opportunities with case-level free shipping where available.
