Federal Premium 6.5 PRC Ammo 143 Grain ELD-X Polymer Tip - P65PRCELDX1

Federal Premium 6.5 PRC Ammunition 143 Grain ELD-X Polymer Tip - P65PRCELDX1

Built for big-game hunting, this 6.5 PRC load pairs a streamlined, boat-tail ELD-X bullet with an aerodynamic secant ogive and a polymer tip that resists deformation and initiates expansion. Its extremely high ballistic coefficient helps keep trajectories flat and reduce wind drift. Paired with specially formulated propellant for consistent velocities, it delivers predictable point of impact, tight groups, and controlled, reliable expansion across a wide range of impact speeds on deer, pronghorn, and elk-class game.

Deep Dive

Overview

This 6.5 PRC is designed for big-game hunting from medium to long range. The 143gr ELD-X is match-accurate and hard-hitting: its polymer tip resists deformation in flight for consistent ballistics and initiates expansion on impact–even at extended range. A concentric copper jacket and a robust shank that provides a solid base so the bullet maintains its integrity, while the high ballistic coefficient (.625) helps maintain speed and reduce wind drift.

History and Development

Federal Premium is built to pair high-quality components with tight manufacturing tolerances. Over time, Federal has refined its brass, primers, and propellant blends and backed them with strict lot testing to deliver reliable ignition, stable velocities, and repeatable accuracy. Premium loads use proven bullet designs and carefully tuned charges to balance precision and terminal performance. Ongoing engineering and ballistic testing continue to update the line while keeping the core promise the same: dependable performance, shot after shot.
