This holster was a
"This holster was a Welcome Gift for the Ammo Plus Membership! Along with it were two other surprise gifts of Jr. Ballistic Safety Glasses w/Ear Plugs and a Target Sports Poly Ammo Can! Thank you very much for the Gifts! I greatly appreciate TargetSportsUSA kindness! With all the holster selections available, I didn't know which one was best for my revolver and I took a chance on this one. This holster met my needs perfectly and fits my 6" Ruger GP100 . 357 Mag. It also fit my two 6. 5" Heritage Rough Riders . 22LR & . 22WMR! And the price was right, so I ordered two more of these holsters for my Rough Riders! I like the forward rotating strap as it made getting the revolver out of the holster easy without unsnapping the strap, plus the strap doesn't get in the way when re-holstering the revolver. The one thing I didn't like is the plastic buckle to adjust the tightness of the nylon strap just happened to align with the hammer of my revolver. I'd rather have the plastic buckle to the right or to the left of the hammer, but center on the hammer makes it a little more difficult to get the strap back over the hammer and I have to be more careful not to cock the hammer when moving the strap back over the hammer. But, it's doable. The most important thing is getting the revolver out of the holster quickly, not putting the revolver back in the holster quickly! Plus, I don't wear this heavy revolver everyday, and just needed something that would keep it protected plus be able to wear occasionally and this holster met that need. I also really like the poly ammo can too! I didn't even realize how much I needed a lightweight poly ammo can! I don't expect the poly material will hold up as well as a metal ammo can, but the poly material sure made it more lightweight and easier to transport ammo to the range, as the ammo itself is heavy enough! Also the Jr. Ballistic Safety Glasses fit me. I wear prescription glasses though, so the safety glasses don't fit over my prescription glasses, but if I wore contact lenses (which I don't), they would be a perfect fit! And who doesn't always need some extra ear plugs! lol. I loved the surprise gifts!"
