Deep Dive

Overview

This .44 Magnum 240-grain JHP is intended for personal defense, backcountry protection, and medium-game hunting where deep penetration and controlled expansion are priorities. It performs well for close-to-moderate range defensive encounters and for hunters needing a heavy-for-caliber round that reliably breaks bone and soft tissue while retaining mass. Because recoil and report are significant with hard-hitting .44 Magnum loads, practice with this ammunition to confirm point-of-impact and follow-up shot capability in your chosen firearm. Always verify your firearm’s specifications and function-test this load before relying on it in the field.

History and Development

Scorpion manufactures new and remanufactured rounds to tight quality standards, using high-grade components and rigorous inspection. Production includes chamber gauging and redundant quality checks from raw materials through finished ammunition to meet or exceed dimensional and pressure tolerances. This approach supports consistent performance across lots for shooters relying on .44 Magnum ammo for defensive, hunting, and training use.
